Reco was a beloved member of the greater Seattle Metro Area, where he served proudly on the board of the nonprofit Game of Life. He was an outstanding athlete, a gifted scholar, a devoted husband, and a mentor to countless young men. He had a heart of gold and never made an enemy.
Reco was passionate about inspiring young men to strive for excellence — to pursue their goals, push beyond limits, and believe in themselves.
In February 2026, after a long and courageous battle, Reco lost his fight with colon cancer. But even in the face of adversity, he fought with strength. He carried a positive attitude throughout his journey. He inspired others even in his most difficult days.
A Message from The RROWE Foundation
The RROWE Foundation's mission is clear: to increase early detection of colorectal cancer by expanding awareness, improving access to screening, and providing financial support to those in need. We will focus on raising awareness, prevention, and advancing ongoing research for colon cancer — with a specific and urgent focus on young men.
Why young men? Because the statistics are alarming.
Since the 1990s, there has been nearly a twofold increase in colon cancer among men under 50. Today, it is the number one cause of cancer-related death in men under 50. Yet when detected early, colorectal cancer has a 90% survival rate — ninety percent.
That means this is not just a fight — it is a fight we can win.
Medical experts strongly recommend that men begin screening at age 45. But far too many delay screening due to lack of awareness, fear, stigma, or cost. The RROWE Foundation exists to remove those barriers. Our goal is simple but powerful: to ensure that no man delays lifesaving colorectal cancer screening because of cost or lack of awareness.
Through education campaigns, community partnerships, screening initiatives, and direct financial assistance, we will work to reach young men where they are — in our neighborhoods, workplaces, churches, schools, and athletic programs. We will speak openly about prevention. We will eliminate stigma. We will advocate for equal access to screening. And we will invest in research that brings hope for the future.
